Anonymous asked: reason(s) why tenzin is not so fond of bumi
Bumi is always the Avatar when they play The Fire Prince And The Avatar. Tenzin wants to protest - he’s the airbender in the family, after all - but Bumi calls him a stick in the mud “just like Firelord Zuzu” and that’s that. Tenzin can never win against Bumi. He can’t follow his train of thought and learns early on that it’s better to go along with Bumi’s sometimes-okay-always crazy ideas than to try rationalizing them. It frustrates him to no end when Kya joins in on the teasing (she gets to play Katara and together they make his life hell). Tenzin loves his brother, he really does, but he won’t deny his relief when he begins airbending training in earnest and can escape his brother’s exhausting escapades for awhile.

obligatory headcanon notes:
-Lin is team captain of the Flying Boars but is unsatisfied with their victories. she feels like there’s something more important she should be doing than playing games.
-“Honora” joined because she was bored. she had her uniform tailored.
-Kya is having a fucking blast and loves the attention.
-Aang, Tenzin, Zuko and Sokka are nervous wrecks during matches.
-Katara, Mai, Bumi and Toph know these girls are all badasses and are cheering the loudest.
-there are no helmets or padding, other than elbow and knee pads. as Lin might say, “I can take a bit of water to the face.”
-Kya invented probending and brought the team/tournament together for it. Toph invested in it, so they became the Flying Boars.
