I went through your deviantArt last night and it literally made my night - I was so happy to see all my favorite characters done so well and even the recent additions like Farmer Cape manifested in your drawings - your art is brilliant and I just wanted to hug you for everything - haha, I just read the side of your blog and I hope you get to work in the illustration industry =]]] also - what do you think of beka not being with rosto - I was kinda disappointed but I like Cape as well =]
Thank you so much! I’m premed at the moment so being able to work in illustration will be a long time coming, but I hope to get there one day. I actually like what Tammy did with Beka and Farmer because of the message it sent about love, and marriage, in general. Because Rosto is the dashing guy who makes you feel tingly inside that you will fantasize about because of all the novels you’ve read or shows you’ve watched (and hey, he’s based off Spike from Buffy, so), but at the end of the day the guy you want to end up marrying is Farmer. Because Farmer is the guy who won’t pick fights with you for petty reasons, who will give you backrubs when you’re sore and who will never take you for granted when life settles into a routine. Not to mention that he willingly took on Beka’s name in a time when that was unorthodox. He’s funny and charming and protective and faithful, and I think he’s exactly what Beka needs and deserves because he can be her rock when she’s down and help her relax when she’s on edge which, let’s face it, will be pretty often. That relaxation thing is important - you want to be able to rest when you’re with your significant other. With Rosto I get the feeling there’d be fireworks and whirlwind romance, but that it wouldn’t last past a year for various reasons - constant sniping, Rosto’s vague moral inclinations, etc. I do adore Rosto as a character though! I just think Farmer makes the better partner. Again, thanks for your kind words :)
